Sun Microsystems, Inc. is launching a worldwide on-campus student intern progr
am - Sun Campus Ambassador Program - to train Sun technology student experts a
nd promote Sun technology adoption among the academic developers.
From February 2006 -June 2007, there are 38 ambassadors joined the campus amba
ssadors team in China, they learned Sun technologies from Sun engineers and Su
n ambassador training plan, spread Sun technologies to academic developers by
tech talk, salon, training and contest, some of the outstanding ambassadors be
came Sun employee when they graduated.
The 2007-2008 campus ambassador program will start, Sun is looking for graduat
e or senior level students with a strong background in software development/pr
ogramming as Sun Campus Ambassadors that can work for Sun at least for 6 month
s.
The Campus Ambassadors will work in conjunction with the Global Education and
Research team and engineers at Sun to drive adoption of Sun platforms (Solaris
and Java) and development tools among Academic Developers (students, faculty,
researchers and IT development communities).
Sun will provide extensive training to the Campus Ambassadors on Sun technolog
ies, including OpenSolaris, Java, Netbeans, Sun Studio and so on.
The Campus Ambassadors would work approximately 60-80 hours per month includin
g training time to promote Sun technology and development tools on campus.

*Qualifications*
- Proficient in C/C++, Java programming language.
- Interest and experience with Unix/Linux.
- Good command of English in writing, reading and speaking.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Comfortable and confident with public speaking.
- Self-motivated, highly organized and can work independently.
*Preferred*
- Experience with Solaris, Sun Studio or NetBeans.
- Experience of organizing activities.
- Major in Computer Engineering/Science.
- Graduate student.
